Father Figures: Heartfelt Legacies Exhibit

Join us as we celebrate and honor the importance of holistic presence in Fatherhood. Father Figures: Heartfelt Legacies is an exhibit highlighting fathers in Saint Louis showing up in different ways. These moments are captured by Tyler Small, who partnered with The Village Path, a local non-profit whose mission is “to increase awareness, access, and acceptance of mental wellness within Black communities.” They will be displayed at the Monaco on 2701 Cherokee Street from May 31st until June 16th.

This exhibit is another element of the annual Father Figures Photo Fundraiser. Tyler raises funds by photographing men from the community to highlight fathers and father figures practicing presence in their relationships with the people they love. This year’s Father Figures event is dedicated to my grandfather, who transitioned in December 2023. My grandfather allowed me to be at ease with my feelings due to his ease with his own deep emotions.

In honoring this deep importance with the help of The Luminary, we have space to share work exploring the priceless moments that happen when fathers are hands-on and present. You can expect ways to interact, insight into behind-the-scenes of the work, and great conversations around fatherhood.
